!!! Happy New Year !!!

Well we are working on the countdown as I type this but I'm sure some of you are already into 2010. So I wish you all the best for this new year. Happy creating everyone.

The # 1 (One)

This ATC is for tomorrows TGIF at Altered Designs. The theme was the number one and I chose to do collage showing one of each of the different items. The playing card is to represent one card and the Ace represents the number one in a deck of cards.

Trust ATC

The theme for our TGIF at Altered Designs for Christmas day was an open them. This is a piece I created sometime ago but since I was behind schedule decide to use it this time. Not sure if I've posted it before but if I did it was without the word trust. Hope you enjoy it and comments are always welcome.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Things will start getting very busy around here very soon considering I've left my baking rather late. So I just want to take a minute to wish all my visitors a very Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to those who don't celebrate Christmas. Stay warm and be happy werever you are in the world and all the best for the year to come.

White on White ATC

Managed to participate in the TGIF ATC mingle for one of my groups and
the theme was White on White. It looks much better in person as it didn't scan well but thought I would share any way.

"D" is For - Door Mouse

I know I haven't posted much art lately but I think my creative muse is on vacation. I did manage to do this piece last night for one of my groups. The theme is the letter "D" so my take is D for Door Mouse. It doesn't show in the scan but the mouse is all glittery(a Rub On). The door is from Digital Collage Sheets. Enjoy! and all comments are welcome and appreciatied.

A Heads Up

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the Holiday Count Down Freebies that Lisa is offering over at Ten Two Studios . They don't start until Tuesday December 1st but she always provides great freebies in her countdown so don't forget to check it out. You also have the option of purchasing all 40 images sheets in high resolution if you are impatient and can't wait.

Can't believe it is almost December and I still can't seem to get into the Christmas spirit creatively or otherwise. Hope others are doing better than I am.

A Seasonal ATC

Well it has been almost a month since I posted my last entry and I have to say I haven't been very creative at all. At least not with paper and glue. Right now I am working at learning how to do digital art with Corel's Paint Shop Pro x1 but haven't done anything I'm ready to post for the world to see. So you'll have to settle for my Snowman Scene instead.

Fright Night

The theme for this one I think is self explanitory. The elements of Halloween minus the pumpkins. The flying bats, fish skeletons and the cat are all dimensional embellishments glued on and the "Happy Fright Night" was generated with my computer.

Butterfly Bling

This theme was to use bling somewhere on your ATC. The butterfly is from Basic Gray along with the stamps used for the white flourishes. The background is from a magazine page and the markings on the right side are roll on image tape (sort of like rub ons)

More Autumn

The theme for this ATC was punches. The small oak leaves are punched out of the background paper and then it was attached to cardstock with double sided tape. For the punch outs I then used Perfect Pearls over the tape. The main image is the same stamp I used in the previous ATC except this one is embossed with Harvet embossing powder and then coloured with marker and attached as a dimensional piece.

Autumn

This ATC was for another group's September lottery and the
them was Autumn . The background is done with alcohol inks done with three colours on one applicator and swiped diagonally across the cardstock then spritz with rubbing alcohol. Images were stamped with memories ink and the leaves were coloured with markers.

I'm Back

Well summer has been over for a while now which means my summer hobby is done for this year. However I have been lacking in the creativity department so my paper arts have been few since the start of September.

This ATC was done for Altered Designs TGIF Sept. 18th with the theme being rainbows.

The Complete Costume

For those of you who were waiting to see what the hat from the previous post was to be worn with. Here is a picture of yours truly and my wonderful hubby all dressed up. We were attending our good friend's victorian wedding which took place at the latest Cowboy Action Shoot.
Lest you think that is a strange place to get marriend, let me explain. They met at a Shoot one year, got engaged at the same venue two years later and a year after that they were married at a shoot held close to their home. This is a picture of the bride and groom with us. Oh and by the way I'm really not bored I just look like it because I hate having my picture taken.

Another Hat

While I haven't been doing much in the way of paper arts I have been creating.

I've done another hat to go with a costume for my summer hobby that I share with hubby. I still have to do some photo editing before I can show you the completed costume but here are pictures of the hat.

I Can't Believe

What's happened to the summer? It's almost gone and I haven't posted anything since June, I'm such a terrible blogger.

I haven't done much in the way of paper arts except for a couple of ATC for weekly mingles on one of my groups. One is the theme Just Stamping and the other was for Christmas in July.

Something Different

I haven't done much with ink and paper recently but that doesn't mean I haven't been creative. So thought I would share the pictures of my latest creation.
The base hat is just a plain and simple man's Bowler. It had satin ribbon around the brim and I added some small black braid trim over top of that to give it more depth and texture. I used some soft tulle netting in black (to cover the plain black hat band and the yellowish feathers that were stuck into it) with the ends left longer to trail off the back. I added black silk flowers with glittered edges and black feathers with shine and some soft fluffy black ones. To take away some of the somber effect of the all black I added some small blue silk roses & buds along with the long blue and black feathers which have a bit of a greenish shine to them.
I created this hat as part of my costume for my summer hobby of Cowboy Action Shooting which I share with my hubby. Now lets hope it doesn't rain this next weekend so I get to wear it rather than a rain hat.

TGIF

This weeks TGIF theme at Altered Designs was black and white. The red you see in this is not part of the ATC, I use the red paper instead of the white of my scanner lid.

Indulgence

This is my ATC for TGIF last week at Altered Designs. The theme was to use a page from the phonebook. I used from the yellow pages and altered a Hair Salon listing.

TGIF For This Week

This weeks theme at Altered Designs was Asian and this scene always looks so peaceful to me.

Maypole Dance

May ATC Lottery for one of my groups was Celebrations in the month of May. The first of May they celebrate the coming of spring and fertility by crowning the Queen of the May and also by dancing the Maypole Dance. I just couldn't resist this lovely silhouette image of children dancing the Maypole. Hope you enjoy and comments are always welcome.

TGIF at Altered Designs

This past weeks TGIF theme was Old Photo. So I used a photograph of my Grandmother as a child of about age 7 or 8 taken when she lived in Holland. She and my Grandfather moved to Canada in 1925 when my father was about 2 years old.

New Art to Share

Some of my latest pieces done for a group mingle themed - birds. This is the first art I've done in quite awhile. Enjoy

An Anniversary Wish

I haven't been very arty over the last little bit but hope to get back to some routine now that hubby is back to work.
I did manage to play with a new set of Spellbinders dies and their Flowers Impressibilities to create this card for my friend's anniversary. The butterflies are done with Dazzlers (similar to Peel Offs) which have the marks for piercing to do the stitching. You can click on the image to view larger.

Birthday Wishes

This is the card I made for my mom's birthday next Saturday. It didn't scan well as far as colour. The flowers are really not yellow but more of a lime green. I used Basic Grey's Sultry paper and stamped the Birthday wishes and flourishes, which are also from Basic Grey, using Vivid dye ink in Garnet.

My Latest Pieces

It has been a while since I posted last but when your creative muse takes a vacation without permission not much art work gets done. I did manage to do two pieces this week though. The first is a Music themed ATC and the second is a card which had to feature Tulips that were done for one of my groups.

My Chinese Name

Ever wonder what your name might look like in Chinese. You can find out at http://www.chinesetools.eu/names/ This is what my name looks like in Chinese - Sandie - prononciation (PinYin) : sān dí . A pretty fair translation I think . Just trivia but thought I would share it anyway. Can you tell I'm not being very creative in my art room.

Some Valentines to Share

Some Valentine Cards I just completed for a mingle. The scans aren't the greatest because my scanner and laptop don't get along. Enjoy and comments are always welcome.

Words - A Chinese Proverb

This is a card that I finished last evening for a card lottery on one of my groups. Not sure why it took me so long the finish it since we have had two months to come up with a finished card.
